Nordic Fintech Snippets – September
In recent months we have been writing about money flowing into Nordic fintechs, especially to Sweden and Denmark in the massive funding rounds of Klarna, Pleo and Lunar. Now we are happy to tell about the first monster round in Finland, which was just yesterday reported by AlphaSense, when they secured $180 million. If you are not familiar with the company, we wrote an article about them earlier this year.
Besides many investments, September brought the Nordics two new global innovation labs, several new partnerships and transactions. In response to Visa’s Tink acquisition, Mastercard acquired Danish Aiia, and yes, IKEA acquired a stake in a BNPL firm. We predict IKEA to be one of the most interesting players in finance in the coming years.
This is Nordic Fintech Snippets, the combined effort of all the Nordic Fintech Hubs, sharing the most important and latest news in fintech and digital finance from each country.
