Funding
July turned out to be as calm as expected, but it was a pleasant surprise to see 3 Finnish fintechs securing funding. This positive development comes after a rather subdued start to the year.
Partnerships
Biometrics continues to play a prominent role in our monthly partnerships, with Swedish companies maintaining their visibility. While it has been a relatively quiet month overall, payments are flowing as usual.
Banks
As the Q2 results roll in, Nordic banks are showing strong and expected performance, with a settling trend in interest rate profits.
In other news, Nordea is currently dealing with legal matters in Denmark related to past money laundering issues.
Additionally, Handelsbanken Norway has embarked on a significant 5-year partnership with Tietoevry Banking for a major IT transformation across their entire portfolio, encompassing core banking systems, card services, and more.
