Finally, keep your eyes and ears open. In the coming weeks, we will be sharing many updates regarding this spring’s main events, the Nordic Fintech Summit and AML Arena.

February in brief

February saw several Nordic fintech companies change ownership through M&A, while banks were particularly active in forming new tech partnerships.

Funding

A few smaller funding rounds took place in the financial software sector. Companies like Receipts, Bluebook, and Senseworks raised investments, showing that there are still plenty of opportunities to improve efficiency in financial backend processes. In addition, private secondary trading platform ReBloom secured pre-seed funding.

M&A

Nordic ownership in fintech decreased as several companies were acquired by foreign players. Danish Altapay was bought by French Market Pay, while GoGift was acquired by Waterland Private Equity and StoreBuddy by another Danish fintech company, Ageras. In Norway, CBA was taken over by British United Fintech.

Banks

February was also an active month for banks. Both OP and DNB announced partnerships with Worldpay, while Nordnet, which recently faced a security issue, teamed up with Broadridge. Alisa Bank continued to expand its Banking-as-a-Service strategy by forming a new partnership with the accounting firm Administer.
