Despite the approaching summer holiday season, Fintech Farm remains dedicated to staying abreast of industry news.

June marked a significant milestone for Finland, with AlphaSense securing the largest funding round in Finnish fintech history and the Nordic region in the past two years.

The month overall showed positive signs, hinting at a dynamic second half of the year.

Funding

In terms of funding, AlphaSense stole the spotlight with an impressive $650 million round, setting a new record in Finnish fintech history and the Nordic region for the past two years.

ESG & Impact continues to reign as the top category for the second consecutive month.

 

Partnerships

June saw a flurry of partnerships centered around cards.
Enfuce made significant strides with its Card as a Service, forging three new partnerships.

Lunar introduced a debit card in collaboration with SAS, while Fingerprints secured a customer in Brazil and Idex Biometrics gained a client in Asia.

 

Banks

On the banking front, Danske Bank made headlines by integrating sustainable investment insights into its mobile app. Handelsbanken opted to enhance its customer engagement by teaming up with digital banking solutions provider Meniga to offer personalized financial insights.

Norwegian-based Lea Bank successfully obtained a banking license in Norway, while Swedish owner banks of Bankgirot are under pressure to meet the requirements of the EU’s Wire Transfer Regulation by the end of 2026.
